Maison Metisse

Project Description

Maison Métisse is a proudly local, ethical and sustainable brand. The name took inspiration from the French word Métisse, which means a woman of mixed ancestry. Adrienne Charuel, the multi-faceted Filipina artist behind the brand, redefines it’s meaning through her life, travels, experiences and her evolution to the woman that she is now. The brand collaborates with the Philippine Itneg Tribe from the mountains of Abra. Every handcrafted and ethical creation is drawn from a collection of stories, passion, and heritage.

Making it more than just a brand but also a creative space to honor design and craftsmanship. It advocates ethical fashion and transparency by valuing heritage, quality, and community. They empower their local partner community by practicing Fair Trade. With a colorful selection of basic tees, kimonos, and blanket Ponchos, Maison Métisse’s Maharlika Collection celebrates the hand-woven textiles and sacred hand embroidery of the Philippine Itneg Tribe while supporting the weaving community and preserving its ancient tradition.
